OneClick Code Ownership Transfer: A Step-by-Step Guide

Follow these instructions to easily transition OneClick Code account ownership within your team.

Need to transfer your OneClick Code account? Avoid disruptions during team changes. This guide provides clear, immediate instructions for a smooth ownership transition.

When Should I Transfer Ownership?

Ownership transfer typically occurs when:

  • A new company or employer is assuming control of the account.

  • The current owner (an employee) is leaving the company.

  • Team members have updated email addresses or roles.

Steps for Transferring Ownership

Steps for the Current Account Owner:

  1. Log in and navigate to the "Teams" tab in the top-left menu.1-Mar-27-2025-05-27-07-2334-PM

  2. Click "Invite team member."  You will want to invite the new owner if they are not on the team yet. If the new owner is already on the team, please skip to step 4. 2-Mar-27-2025-05-27-17-4901-PM

  3. Enter the new owner's email address and set their role to Admin. Then, send the invite.3-Mar-27-2025-05-27-52-7931-PM

  4. Wait until the new team member accepts your invite.

  5. After acceptance, under the Role/Status column, locate the new Admin’s email. Click the dropdown menu and select Owner.12-1

    • This action promotes the new admin to the Owner role, enabling you to later leave the team if desired.5b

Steps for the New Account Owner:

  1. Accept the team invite sent by the current owner.

  2. To limit the old owner's access the account : Navigate to the "Teams" tab.

  3. Locate the previous Owner's email on the team roster.

    • Under the Actions Tab, click on trashcan icon by their email address. This will remove the old owner from the team.7-Mar-27-2025-05-28-51-3145-PM
      • Then confirm that you would like to remove the user from the team 8-Mar-27-2025-05-29-03-5333-PM
    • Under Role/Status, change the previous Owner’s role from Admin to Member, then click Apply. This will limit the old owner's access to team projects and billing information 

Billing Implications

  • Billing information remains unchanged during the ownership transfer.

  • The new Owner is responsible for updating billing details if changes are required.

  • For assistance updating payment methods, please contact our support team.

Is the Old Owner still a member of the team?

  • Yes: No further action is needed.

  • No: Remove the previous Owner by following these steps:

    1. Navigate to the "Teams" tab.1-Mar-27-2025-05-29-29-1418-PM

    2. Find the previous Owner’s email on the team roster.

    3. Under Actions, click the "OFF" button.9-4

    4. Confirm by selecting "Yes, Leave the team".10-1

What Happens to Projects After Ownership Transfer?

  • The team retains copies of all projects created by the previous Owner.

  • The previous Owner keeps copies of:

    • All projects they personally created.

    • Any projects created by other members that they viewed prior to leaving.
